The Monastery's natural environment provides visitors with a tranquil and uncontaminated sanctuary for spiritual purification. In order to ensure the quality of visits, the safety of visitors, the compatibility of transportation system, the sacredness of the Monastery and the Monastery's harmonious relationships with the local community, a visitor registration system has been implemented.

Tsz Shan Monastery is a Chinese Buddhist monastery established for the preservation of the inheritance of the Dharma preached by Sakyamuni Buddha. We hold the conviction that Buddha nature is possessed by all sentient beings. By going through constant hearing, reflecting and practicing, right knowledge and right views could be cultivated and this should, in turn, lead us to the cessation of defilements, the achievement of merit and wisdom and, most importantly, the attainment of peace and happiness.
To visit Tsz Shan Monastery from the city, you are struck by a sense of calmness-both in the natural environment and in the atmosphere of the majestic monastery. Its style is inspired by the more solemn and elegant styles of the Tang, Northern Song, Liao and Jin dynasties, which existed over a period of about 600 years beginning in the 7th century.
The Main Gate, the Maitreya Hall and the Grand Buddha Hall are located on the central axis of the Monastery. Situated to the sides of the Maitreya Hall, are the Drum Tower and the Bell Tower, which is also located above the Great Vow Hall. Tripitaka Library is located on the western wing of the Grand Courtyard.

“One is complete by nature, and there is no need to seek outwards.” Please maintain social distancing, when we stand together fighting off the COVID-19. Cherish the time to look inwards, practice mindfulness, and send loving-kindness to Hong Kong and the world.

Those who have registered for a visit during the closure are welcome to visit the Monastery within three months after its re-opening, by presenting the original confirmation email, without the need to register again.
